Biography
Josephine Huang Aerialist
Josephine Huang is a New York City based actor/singer/musician. A cum laude graduate of the University of Florida, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Performance. Currently, Josephine is entering her third season as a member of The Bats, the resident acting company of The Flea Theater.

It is with the Flea that Josephine made her NYC stage debut in The Great Recession. Comissioned by the Flea exclusively for the Bats, it featured world premieres by Adam Rapp, Itamar Moses, Thomas Bradshaw, Erin Courtney, Sheila Callaghan, and Will Eno. Josephine played the role of Jen in Will Eno’s UNUM (dir. Jim Simpson), as well as Kayla in Sheila Callaghan’s RECESS (dir. Kip Fagan, Dan Lockhart). Other shows at the Flea include the long running #Serials@TheFlea, as well as the world premiere of Future Anxiety by Laurel Haines.

Josephine has also been part of numerous readings and workshops of new works, with a number of both established and up and coming playwrights and directors. These include NINE DAYS FALLING (by Mac Wellman), WHAT WOULD WOODY DO? (w/Tony Shaloub @ The Naked Brothers Band; dir. Polly Draper), UNA, LA WHORE DEL MUNDO (by Barbara Cassidy; dir. Kara-Lynn Vaeni) JONESIN'' (By fellow Bat Seth Moore; dir. Matthew Strothers), DON QUIXOTE AT TIANANMEN SQUARE (by Daniel Ho; dir. Melissa Moschitto) FLIPSIDE (by Jenny Schwartz and Todd Almond) and THE POP PROJECT (The Talking Band, by Ellen Maddow; dir. Ken Rus Schmoll).

Other favorite productions include roles in: International tours of LYSISTRATA in Greece, and OUR TOWN (Helen Newsome) in Brazil; SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (Nurse; dir. Danny Sharron), THE WATER CHILDREN (Liz), THE ALTRUISTS (Cybil), HAIR, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, WEST SIDE STORY, and TOO MUCH LIGHT MAKES THE BABY GO BLIND.

On camera credits include: SESAME STREET (Hipster Girl), THREE (NYU Tisch, Dir. Zhoujie Chen), and two Mofilm contest winning spec commercials for Diet Pepsi and Best Buy (dir. Lawrence Chen). Josephine has also worked on a number of video hosting and interactive theater programs for various corporations.

In her spare time, Josephine enjoys traveling, spending time with her friends and family, as well as cooking and baking up a storm in her tiny East Village kitchen as often as possible.
